Jamian has worked at the confluence of politics, policy, law, and business since 1999. He brings his multidisciplinary expertise and extensive professional experience to the founding of OxbowAdvisory in 2011 as a China-focused risk advisory for U.S. companies operating/investing in China. In step with the increasing crossborder complexities and risks facing clients since its founding, Jamian has expanded Oxbow’s expertise and geographic reach to include the broader tableaux of U.S.-Asia political, economic, and commercial affairs. Jamian leads client engagements across Oxbow’s professional service lines and practice groups. He is committed to delivering personalized, distinctive value that responds to client needs and challenges head on.

Jamian taught at the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey (MIIS), in the International Trade and Economic Diplomacy MA graduate program in Washington DC. In addition to his work with Oxbow, Jamian is an attorney, counseling individual, private and public sector clients across a host of business and government challenges.

He is often called upon to share his insights, speaking at professional conferences and delivering guest lectures at the McDonough School of Business, Georgetown University and The George Washington University School of Business. Jamian is an annual participant at Brigadoon in Sundance Utah, a gathering of global thought leaders and entrepreneurs. His analysis is featured in U.S. and international media outlets including The Wall Street Journal, the Associated Press, Bloomberg Business, CNBC, The Australian, The China Post, and peer-reviewed publications

Marc is a global communications strategist and executive advisor working at the intersection of globalization, disruption, and politics. As a senior strategic adviser at Oxbow, Marc brings unparalleled expertise in the areas of global political intelligence with focus on the international and U.S. domestic politics of U.S.-China commercial relations. Marc’s communications strategies for companies and investors re: their China interests are an invaluable component to Oxbow’s strategic advisory and risk management consulting.

Marc’s work in government relations and international policy has allowed him to work on many diverse public policy issues, such as global climate change, national energy policy, natural resource management, auto retailing, intellectual property, technology antitrust and competition, US-China commercial relations, and international trade. His experience working with several startups and entrepreneurs has also allowed him to provide expertise and guidance on marketing, business development, finance, and strategy.

He is the founder of Caracal, a global executive advisory and political communications firm specializing in international trade, commercial relations, and economic diplomacy, and the founder of Brigadoon, a global membership network of entrepreneurs and thought leaders looking to make better connections and better understand the emerging issues shaping commerce and culture.
